<p><strong>Application and Usage:</strong><br />
ICAM-8606 is a polyfunctional epoxy resin (solved in MEK), which contains a chemically bound organo-phosphorous substance. Thus the mechanical properties like stability and modulus as well as chemical resistance are not influenced negatively as it occurs when using additives or filling agents.</p>
<p>In case of hardened epoxy resin systems optimal flame retardancy (i.e.V-0 according to UL 94) can already be achieved with a phosphorous content of less than 2 %.</p>
<p>Minor demands can already be achieved with lower phosphorous content.</p>
<p>ICAM-8606 can be processed with all common epoxy resins, reactive diluents and hardener</p>

<p><strong>Application and Usage</strong><br />
ICAM-8602 is a halogen-free, heavy metal-free flame retardant additive specially designed for the use in thermoset resins. As reactive phosphorous substance it crosslinks during curing. Therefore mechanical behaviour like tenacity and modulus as well as chemical resistance are not influenced negatively. This makes ICAM-8602 superior to metal hydroxydes or non reactive phosphorous substances.<br />
ICAM-8602 is mixed with the resin during the processing and crosslinks by acidic hydrogen atoms with the matrix.<br />
Optimal flame retardancy (V0 according to UL 94) can be reached with a phosphorous content of 2~5%. As sometimes a lower phosphorous content might be sufficient (hardener, fillers), we recommend to determine the optimal phosphorous concentration for each application.<br />
ICAM-8602 reacts with water to a non-cyclized form, which closes again with drying or with elimination of water.<br />
We recommend in epoxy resin systems the systematic conversion of POLYDIS ICAM-8602 with epoxy resins before their appliance in a formulation. You have to consider that the reaction of the oxiran-ring with the pH-bond is exothermic.<br />
